SPECIAL APPEAL

From Rapid Response to Reliable Support: Ensuring No Senior Goes Hungry

Across our 92 independent and assisted living communities, AHEPA Senior Living provides safe, affordable housing for thousands of older adults—more than half of whom, 2,500 residents, receive some form of food assistance.

Thanks to the swift generosity of our donors, AHEPA Senior Living’s rapid response raised $100,000 to help residents through the recent federal shutdown. Now, even as the government has reopened and SNAP benefits resume, many older adults still face lingering uncertainty in accessing the food assistance and nutrition programs they rely on every day.

In the shutdown’s aftermath, SNAP is navigating administrative backlogs and proposed program changes. At the same time, nonprofit meal providers—such as Meals on Wheels and congregate meal programs funded by the Older Americans Act (OAA)—remain severely underfunded, leading to alarming waitlists and limited capacity in many communities.

From November 1 through December 31, 2025, every donation will go directly toward providing food assistance for seniors affected by lingering administrative delays and ongoing strain on local meal programs. Your support will help us:

  • Assist residents waiting for delayed benefit reinstatements
  • Support strained community partners like Meals on Wheels
  • Coordinate resources in areas where food banks remain depleted
  • Ensure seniors have what they need during the winter and holiday season

Your generosity fueled our rapid response. Now we’re focused on providing reliable support that gives our residents stability, comfort, and peace of mind.

Please stand with us in this next phase.
Donate today. Every dollar counts—and every act of kindness makes a difference.

Thank you for your compassion and continued support.
