National Training Conferences for Our Team Members Held

AHEPA Senior Living held two national training conferences this fall, bringing together team members from across the country for professional development, collaboration, and celebration of service.

The organization convened its Property Managers Conference in Chicago in late September, followed by the Service Coordinator and Maintenance Conferences in Indianapolis in October. Together, these events strengthened ASL’s mission to provide safe, dignified, and affordable housing with quality services that help older adults live independently and thrive.

“Our conferences are a time to learn, share best practices, and recognize the people who make our mission possible,” President and CEO Steve Beck said. “Their dedication reflects our commitment to excellence in affordable senior housing nationwide.”

In Chicago, property managers gained the latest insights in affordable housing management and engaged directly with board and executive leadership. The conference also featured the unveiling of the company’s new Resident Orientation Video, team-building activities, and networking sessions that encouraged collaboration and innovation.

The following month in Indianapolis, the company hosted its annual Service Coordinator and Maintenance Conferences. Workshops focused on training, best practices, and peer learning, helping staff expand their skills and deepen their understanding of resident needs.

Service Coordinators, who are the heart of the HUD Section 202 program, play a vital role in connecting residents to resources and supportive services that empower them to age in place with dignity and peace of mind.

“These gatherings remind us that our mission extends beyond bricks and mortar,” Chairman of the Board Ike Gulas, PSP, said. “It’s about people helping people; our teams supporting our residents, and each other.”

Gulas added the company is grateful to all organizers, presenters, and attendees for making the 2025 conferences a success.
